Lewis Keith Fryer Sr.

January 12, 1933 - April 15, 2018

Lewis Keith Fryer Sr., of McAlester, died of complications from pulmonary fibrosis on Sunday, April 15, 2018, in Tulsa, at the age of 85.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Bishop Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by the Rev. Scott Walker, Mr. Joe Reed and Mr. Roy Fryer. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lewis was born to Louis and Ellen (Teten) Fryer on January 12, 1933, in Shattuck.
He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He then attended the University of Oklahoma on a basketball scholarship and obtained an electrical engineering degree.
Lewis married Donna Jean Duff on July 13, 1957, in Amarillo, Texas. He worked for Public Service Company of Oklahoma as operations superintendent - Eastern Division for over 35 years before retirement.
Lewis was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a longtime member of McAlester First Christian Church and current member of Central Christian Church in McAlester.
Survivors include his daughters, Teresa Weger, of Colbert, and Susan Reed and husband, Joe, of Hewitt, Texas; son, Roy Fryer and wife, Kimberly, of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Brian Weger and wife, Lori, Aaron Weger and wife, Kim, Shayla Dixon, Amanda Barugh, Michael Reed, Lewis Keith Fryer III, Kevin Kling and wife, Talhia, Blake Fryer, and Austin Fryer; 11 great-grandchildren; a very special companion of over 15 years, Ramona Stilwell, and her family, of Soper, and other family members and friends.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ellen Fryer; wife, Donna Fryer; son, Lewis K. Fryer Jr.; son-in-law, Danny Weger, and a brother, Lawrence Fryer.
Pallbearers will be John Yost, Chuck Drake, Brian Weger, Aaron Weger, Michael Reed, Kevin Kling, Blake Fryer, Austin Fryer and Keith Fryer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Yost, Ronnie Hammock and Mark Hammock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
