Lela May Hamby

Lela May Hamby passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on July 21, 2018, at the age of 91.
Lela was born to Harry Leon Parker and Nellie Harrison on January 26, 1927, in Red Fork.
She married Versil Hamby at the age of 22 and they had four children.
Her daughters Danette and Cynthia preceded her in death.
She is survived by daughter, Mary Hord, of Wilburton; son, Kevin Hamby, of Foyil; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hamby was a graduate of Eastern Oklahoma State College and worked there for many years. She completed a 5K at Robber's Cave State Park at the age of 83.
Mrs. Hamby was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Wilburton for several years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wilburton for over 50 years and sang in the choir and also did solos.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Wilburton on August 3, at 10 a.m.
