Keith Smith, 59, of Hartshorne, died Thursday, March 15, 2018, at his home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 21, at 2 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne, with Pastor Scott Workman officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Haley, Frankie Ray Ranallo, Phil McFarland, Freddy Lardi, Jerry Holt, David Omstead and Jimmy Paxton. Keith Smith was born on Oct. 30, 1958, in Bakersfield, California, to Jay W. and Ida "Jackie" (Ligon) Smith. He lived most of his adult life in the Bugtussle and Bucks at Gaines Creek areas and had lived in Hartshorne the last eight years. Keith worked for Union Pacific Railroad, and others, all his adult life as a rail inspector. In his spare time he enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing pool and shuffleboard, cooking out, and he particularly like camping, especially going to fish camp. Keith is survived by his wife, Caroline Smith, who he married on June 1, 2001; his children, Kristal Luker and husband, Kevin, of Stuart, Greg Smith and wife, Amanda, of McAlester, Valerie Ogden and husband, Jerry, of Quinton, Clairisa Higgins and husband, Eric, of McAlester, and Larry Davis, of Tahlequah; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Hoetta Smith, of McAlester; two sisters, Cathy Kardocus, of North Carolina, and Tammy Green, of Longtown; 16 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Emma Leigh Ogden; three brothers, Larry, Lewis and Rickey Smith, and a niece, Jackie Short.
