Karen Kay "Kitty" Culbertson, 65, was called home on Thursay, Jan. 19, 2017, after a valiant battle with a long illness.
Her devotion to her family, and her firm belief in God, supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Karen was born to Sherman and Lorena Stephens on April 10, 1951, in Watonga. She grew up playing outdoors and spending time with her siblings.
Karen married the love of her life, Gary, on July 20, 1968, in Enid.
Karen was a kind soul. She never met a stranger and always helped when she could. Her family was her life, and everything she did, she did for them. She was her children's and her grandchildren's biggest fan. She supported and encouraged them in everything they did.
Karen is survived by her husband, Gary Culbertson; her children, Michael Culbertson and Traci Howard Culbertson; her grandchildren, Amanda and Bobby Keser, Austin Culbertson, Alicia Culbertson, Zachary Culbertson; her great-grandson, Silas Keser; great-granddaughter, Aspyn Brown; her siblings, Gary and Charla Stephens, Sharon and Lutreal Fortune, Joan Gracey, and Sonja and Don Hughes; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special friend, Kathryn Smith.
She treasured each and every family member, no matter how distantly they may have been related.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Sherman and Lorena Stephens; great-granddaughter, Skylyn Keser, and two brothers-in-law, Ken Gracey and Darrell Culbertson
Karen requested to be cremated. Her ashes will be interred at the family plot in Covington. A memorial will be planned at a future time and all are welcomed.
