Julia Rhea (Sherrell) Woods, 45, of McAlester, died on Thursday, May 10, 2018, in McAlester.
The family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at Bishop Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 14, at North Town Church of Christ officiated by Mr. Randy Hughes.
Pallbearers will be Harrison Emory, Kyle Wise, Mike Miranda, Daniel Walker, Luke Woods and Shelton Brooks.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Peckio, Doy Adams, Don Brewer, Ethan Woods, Christian Carter and Brandon Beck.
Memorial contributions may be made to North Town Church of Christ or Wilburton Church of Christ.
Julia was born to George Ray and Juanita Carol (Walker) Sherrell on September 3, 1972, in McAlester. She grew up in McAlester and graduated from McAlester High School in 1990.
She obtained a bachelor's of science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and a master's degree from East Central University.
Julia married her high school sweetheart, Bryan Woods, on October 27, 1990, in McAlester. She was a teacher for Frink-Chambers School for 24 years and an instructor for Great Expectations.
Julia enjoyed teaching, shopping, fishing, yard work, working out, loving on her animals and being with her daughter, Shelby, and husband, Bryan.
She was a member of North Town Church of Christ and had been attending the Wilburton Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Bryan Woods, of the home; daughter, Shelby Woods, of the home; parents, George and Juanita Sherrell, of Krebs; brother, Trenton Sherrell and wife, Gretchen, of Hanover Park, Illinois; uncles, Jimmy Walker and wife, Lorene, of Red Oak, and Leland Walker and wife, Sally, of Red Oak; aunt, Donna Barber and husband, James, of Hayworth; uncle, Kenneth Sherrell and wife, Ginger, of Rosston, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Jane Woods, of McAlester; sister-in-law, Chandra Hensley and husband, Kyle, of McAlester; brother-in-law, Brent Woods and wife, Corie, of McAlester, and other aunts, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
Julia was preceded in death by her grandparents, J.D. and Nadine Walker, O.E. and Helon Sherrell, John S. Woods, and Leo and Anna Jordan.
