Judith (Stout)'s Story
Judith (Stout) Gibson, 78, of McAlester, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at her home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at Haywood Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Brinkley and Rick Dominic officiating. Burial will follow at Pryor Cemetery in Stuart.
Judith was born on Sept. 18, 1939, in Manilla, Arkansas, to J.L. and Dena (Hamric) Stout. She grew up in Trumann, Arkansas, and married Larry Gibson there on Aug. 9, 1957. She was a military wife for 20 years and then moved to McAlester.
She had a career with the federal government for 30 years and then worked as a tax preparer for 14 years.
She was a longtime member of Haywood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; one son, James and wife, Rhonda, of Kirtland, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Lance Gibson and Stacy Baron, of Farmington, New Mexico, Bryan Purdom, of Saint Paul, Minnesota, and Ashley Millikan, of Vinita; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kyler, Johnny, Atty and Aili; one brother, Jerry Stout, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; one sister, Cathy Stout, of Trumann, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Peggy Wilkins and husband, Bill, of Benton, Arkansas, and one brother-in-law, Bill Teague, of Trumann, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by one child, Darlene; her parents, J.L. and Dena Stout; mother-in-law and father-in-law, James and Thelma Gibson; one sister, Mary Teague; one sister-in-law, Carol Stout, and one brother -in-law, Gary Gibson.
Active pallbearers will be Darren Schoggins, Kent Crawford, Kevin Smart, Wayne Chandler, Joe DeLaune and Carl Sanders.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Welch and Eric Clark.
