Juanita "Nita"'s Story
Juanita "Nita" Mae Boyer-Timmons, 73, of Sand Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 9, 2017, due to complications from surgery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
Funeral services were Monday, March 13, at Sand Springs Church of God with Pastor Greg Reeder officiating. Interment was at Blanco Cemetery.
Nita was born in Oklahoma City on Dec. 14, 1943. She graduated from McAlester High School in 1961 and continued on to receive a degree from Northeastern University. She also was licensed as an Insurance Agent by the Oklahoma Insurance Commission.
She was married to the love of her life, Lloyd Lindal Timmons, on August 1, 1962. They were married 40 years, at the time of Lloyd's passing.
She worked as an Independent Insurance Agent for 19 years at Earnie Cornelius Insurance Agency in Yukon, before retiring in 1981.
She was a talented painter and also enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing and traveling. Her favorite place to travel was Hawaii and had plans to live out the remainder of her life there. She always loved "all things Elvis". It brought her fond memories of her late husband, Lloyd who resembled Elvis both in appearance and voice. She also enjoyed all activities with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved each and every one of them beyond measure.
Nita is survived by her children, Cathy Jo Timmons, of Edmond, Debbie Lynn Brod, of Kellyville, and Kenny Ray Timmons, of Bethel Acres; grandchildren, Sacha Brod-Bruce, of Kellyville, Dustin Brod, of Tulsa, Brittani Brod-Duplechain, of Rayne, Louisiana, Austin Timmons of McAlester, Amanda Timmons, of McAlester, Sandra Timmons, of McAlester, and Brandi Timmons, of Indianola; great-grandchildren, Donovan Mann, Bella Bruce and Lillian Bruce, of Kellyille, Hunter Brod and Daniel Brod, of Tulsa, Benjamin Duplechain and Tobias Duplechain, of Rayne, Louisiana, and Corban Timmons and Keaton Timmons, of McAlester; sister, Wilma Boyer-Dicus, of Sapulpa; brothers-in-Law, Garry Timmons, of Edmond, and Johnny Dicus, of Sapulpa; nephews, Ronald Simmons, of Cresent Curtis Dicus and Dennis Dicus, of Sapulpa, and Devin Moss, of Sand Springs; niece Shelly Moss-Walker, of Calera, Alabama, and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Lindal Timmons; father, Edwin Boyer; mother, Ellen Boyer; sister, Carol Boyer-Anderson; father-in-law, Dan Timmons; mother-in-law, Minnie Timmons; sister-in-law, Nadine Timmons-Duncan, and great-grandchild, Kyler Timmons.
