Joyce Ferguson, 91, of McAlester, died Friday, January 19, 2018, at her home.
Family will receive friends today from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, January 22, at First Baptist Church in McAlester with the Rev. Terry Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Bache-Red Oak Cemetery.
Joyce was born on March 2, 1926, in Alderson, to Jim and Katie (Kirkpatrick) Venable. She married Walter Glen Ferguson on December 15, 1945, in Sherman, Texas. Together they owned and operated Glen's Auto Supply in McAlester for many years.
She volunteered for over 25 years at McAlester Regional Hospital.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in McAlester and loved her Sunday school class and Prime Timers. She enjoyed shopping, reading, traveling, dancing and bowling.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Jay White, of McAlester, and Gwen and Terry Hutchison, of McAlester; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Sandie Ferguson, of Tulsa; grandchildren and spouses, Terry and Tammy Moore, Ted and Mary Moore, Toby and Christy Moore, Christi and Jeremy Beaver, Jennifer and Oscar Moody, Michael and Becky Ferguson, James and Lacey Ferguson, Jason White, Justin White, Jayme White, Ryan and Linda Hutchison, and Teresa and Terry Rowlan; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter on the way; brothers, Bill and Sue Venable, of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Don Venable, of Oklahoma City, and sisters, Jackie Stoterau, of Seattle, Washington and Joan Williams of Derby, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Ferguson; parents, Jim and Katie Venable; sisters, Jean Testa and Virginia Goatcher; brother, James Venable, and granddaughter, Toni Graham.
Active pallbearers will be Ted Moore, Toby Moore, Michael Ferguson, Oscar Moody, James Ferguson, Jackson Beaver, Riley Rees, Seth Moore, Zac Moore, Jacob Moore and Jaiden Graham.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons.
