On Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, Jody Chah-Poee Jefferson Day, 43, joined her grandparents and auntie to walk in the footsteps of God.
She was a patient wife of 11 years to Jimmy Day.
The apple in the eyes of her parents, Randy and Sylvia Jefferson, Julianna Jefferson and Curtis "Corky" Haney. A loving and proud mom to Alexis Kaylene Dunlap Elie-Sweet and her husband, Chrisean Elie-Sweet, Kyli Suzanne Day Pytel and her husband, Jarod Pytel, and youngest and only son, Kyle Alexander Day. She was the proudest grandma to her grandson, Elias Elie-Sweet, and was to be blessed with a granddaughter in February. Her siblings, Jacqueline Jefferson, Julian Baquera, Jennifer Stewart, Steven Padilla, Ricky Perry, Jonathan Perry and Zak Jefferson.
She had chosen to be an organ and tissue donor and would have been proud to know how many she has already helped.
She will be flying home to McAlester from Cheyenne, Wyoming. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Chaney-Harkins Chapel. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Monty Rivera, Ricky Perry, Jayton White, Zachary Jefferson, Jacob White and Steven Padilla. Arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.
