Jimmie Cirar, 96, formerly of Hartshorne, died Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Jimmie was born on April 8, 1922, in Adamson, to John and Johanna (Kimovec) Cirar. He attended school in Adamson and Hartshorne. He worked for Sukenis Coal Company in Adamson and for the Civilian Conservation Corp. in Cortez, Colorado, before enlisting in the United States Army Air Force in 1942. He attended Army Air Force Service Schools to be qualified as an airplane and engine mechanic. He also attended Quartermaster Corp. cooking and baking school.
He married Augusta Pink in Wilburton in 1945. After an honorable discharge in 1946, he worked at the U.S. Naval Ammunition Depot in McAlester as a mechanic until retirement.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Richard Jacewitz, of Tulsa, Stephanie Anne Cirar, of Norman, and Barbara and Dwayne Roper, of Poteau; five grandsons and spouses, Rodney and Russell Rollison, of Norman, Ryan and Waylinda Rollison, of Poteau, Danny and Jennie Jacewitz, of Florida, Michael Jacewitz, of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Makenlee Rollison, Brooklynn Rollison, Tanner Rollison, Willow Rollison, Dominic Jacewitz, Aiden Jacewitz, and Madeline Jacewitz, and a sister, Angeline Sivic, of Norman.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Angela Marie Cirar; four brothers, Nick, Frank, Ghuste and John Gaspar Cirar, and two infant siblings.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
