Jessie Huff, 76, of McAlester, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at Cornerstone Hospital in Shawnee.
The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester today from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Tommy Green officiating. Burial will be at Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone, Texas.
Jessie Huff was born on April 4, 1940, in Telephone, Texas, to Jess and Cora (Runyan) Gray. She grew up in that area then lived in Fort Worth for a short time before moving to Durant, where she spent most of her adult life.
She moved to McAlester in 2009 to be near her daughter.
Jessie had worked as a private health care provider for a number of years, then when she moved here, she worked at the Gorilla Store in Krebs for several years.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Frank Thornburg, of McAlester; four grandsons, Andy Whitehurst and wife, Ashley, of Waxahachie, Texas, Clint Whitehurst and wife, Toni, of Durant, James Thornburg, of Krebs, and Jeremey Thornburg and wife, Kelly, of Spiro; granddaughter, Tamy DeShazo and husband, Rick, of Spiro; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Emma, Conner, Carter, Ainsley, Carson, Preston, Sasha and Bobby Whitehurst; two sisters, Dean Boatwright and Fable Griffin, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Huff; a sister, Birdie Brossett, and a brother, Frank Gray.
Pallbearers will be Dana Thornburg, Frank Thornburg, Andy Whitehurst, Clint Whitehurst, James Thornburgh and Bill Boatwright.
