Jaylen Marquisw Nelson


Jaylen Marquise Nelson, 16, of McAlester, died on Saturday, June 22, 2019, in McAlester.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, at Northside Assembly of God Church officiated by the Rev. Anthony Washington.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bryson Horne, K.J. Hearst and Nazir Hearst.
Arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
Jaylen was born to Stephen Jack Nelson and Amber De'Nay Collier on September 24, 2002, in McAlester. Jaylen attended McAlester Schools and was looking forward to his junior year at McAlester High School. He worked as a cook at McDonalds.
Jaylen enjoyed skateboarding, drawing and loved being with his family and friends.
Jaylen was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Eden and Helen Nelson; paternal grandparents, Stephen and Debra Nelson; maternal great-grandparents, Charlie Collier and Mary Collier; maternal grandparents, Eddie Collier and Teresa Ann Kennedy; an uncle, Clayton Nelson, and aunt, Kellie Nelson.
Survivors include his mother, Amber De'Nay Collier, of the home; father, Stephen Jack Nelson, of McAlester; maternal great-grandparents, Burl Jr. and Loretta Eldridge, of Tannehill; aunt, Deziray Hearst and husband, Keenan, of McAlester; uncle, Adam Collier and wife, Lacy, of Oklahoma City; aunt, Krystina Horne; aunts, Stephanie Nelson, Natalie Nelson, Tiffany Nelson-Lee and DeAnna Nelson, Gail Jewell and J.J. Klembara; great-aunt, Deanna Murray; great-great-aunt, Zelda Kennedy, and cousins, Quianna Hearst, K'Mya Hearst, Trenity Hearst, K.J. Hearst, Dallas Collier, Bryson Horne, Braydon Horne, Cheyenne Hearst, Nazir Hearst, Maleah Thomas, Christian Thomas, Brenden Ketchum, Jade Sennett, Eden Fry, Jaylynn Lee, Eleanor Lee, Kyzir Hearts, Eva Hearst, Angel Baker, Daizy Cuevas, Felicia Cuevas, Diego Cuevas, Phillip Cuevas and Julien Kamrud, Ava Klembara, Alexis Klembara, Keelie Klembara, and numerous other family members and friends.

I remember the day we met we were 7 years old full of happiness and joy no matter the shitty cards we were dealt. But that doesn't matter now the great things in the future for us is what matters now we will meet again soon enough. Your gonna have to show me around when I get there though because I'll be a rookie to the afterlife. Love you bro.
