Janet Lou Brown, 59, of McAlester, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at her home.
Janet was born February 22, 1958, in McAlester to Clayton Effinger and Eloise Lucille Effinger Clunn (McKee). Janet married Don Brown on March 14, 1980, in Indianola. She worked as the Healthcare Coordinator and as a Job Coach for KiBois for the past 17 years. Janet was a kind and caring person who loved to her family and working at KiBois. Her hobbies included hunting, fishing and shopping.
She is survived by her husband, Don Brown, of the home; daughters, Jennifer Johnson and husband, Rusty, of Ada and Dawnya Doney and husband, George of McAlester; step-sons, Cody Reeves, of Texas and Darrell Brown, of Catoosa; grandchildren, Sarah Johnson, Braylee Doney, Audree Doney, Kasey Maddux, Taylor Ellis and Cody Robinson; brothers and sisters, Kay McKee, of McAlester, Belinda Tabers and David Sager, of Canadian, Gina King and husband, Doyle, of McAlester, Bart Effinger and wife, Sherrie, of Crowder and Bret Effinger and wife, Lisa, of Ulan; numerous, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other family and a host of friends.
The family will greet friends Friday, October 27, 2017 at Chaney's Memorial Chapel from 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Chaney's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jamie Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment will follow at Ulan Cemetery, Ulan Community, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be J.L. McKibben, George Doney, Ernest Holderman Body Jameson, David Perry and Ryan Shannon.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bret Effinger, Bart Effinger, Rusty Johnson, Doyle King, Matthew Effinger and Rodney Sheppard.
