Honey Fay (Thompson) Copeland, 45, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, in McAlester.
The family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, at Bishop Funeral Service.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 21, at Arpelar Cemetery officiated by Vernon Jones. Burial will follow.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Fox, Joel Prewett, Cody Lackey, Hayden Fox, Doug Baker and Leroy Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be W.H. Wilson and Gerald Wilson.
Honey was born to Johnny Ray and Joyce (Wilson) Thompson on March 1, 1972, in McAlester. She graduated from Clover Leaf High School in 1990. Honey attended Kiamichi Technology Center and Eastern Oklahoma State College. She then attended and graduated from Lee College in Baytown, Texas.
Honey worked as a teacher for child care centers in McAlester and in Houston, Texas, and retired after 21 years.
She is survived by her mother, Joyce Thompson, of the home; brother, John Thompson, of Casa Grande, Arizona; sister, Joy Dotson and husband, David, of Texas; brother, Bill Thompson and wife, DeAnna, of Gainesville, Virginia; special cousin, Ada Fox, of McAlester; aunts and uncles, Betty Scott, of McAlester, Annie Prescott, of McAlester, Doloris Thompson, of Shreveport, Louisiana, Geneva Giles, of Claremore, W.H. Wilson and wife, Laura, of McAlester, and Gerald Wilson and wife, Linda, of Adamson, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
Honey was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Ray Thompson, in 1994; her husband, Bryan Lee Copeland, in 2008; an uncle, Sonny Wilson, as well as other family members.
