Harold Fount Cathey, 84, of Indianola, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at his residence.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Bishop Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Fred Morrison and the Rev. Brent Jarrett. Burial will follow at Indianola Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Cathey, Terry Cathey, Tim Cathey, David Watson, Lafe Rogers and Earl Rogers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rocky Wood, Richard Miller, Mark Weeks and Cecil Miller.
Harold was born to Fount and Lula French (Smith) Cathey on Sept. 10, 1932, in Indianola. He attended Indianola School.
Harold married Pearlean Helms on Nov. 26, 1953, in McAlester. Harold had worked in Arizona and California picking fruit when he was younger.
He worked farming, trading cars, cattle and other livestock.
Harold loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Pearlean, of the home; sons, Jimmy Cathey and wife, Tammy, and Miles Cathey, all of Indianola, and Ricky Cathey and wife, Kandy, of Arpelar; daughters, Rhonda Tripp and husband, Benny, and Renae Bennett and husband, Dale, all of Indianola, Kathy Cathey, of McAlester, and Karen Helms, of Wilson; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack Cathey and wife, June, of Meeker, and Bill Cathey and wife, Sherrie, of Indianola; brother-in-law, Alvin Helms and wife, Wilma, of Pampa, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Fount and Lula Cathey; son, Randall Cathey; sister, Mary Lou Rogers, and a brother, Clayborn Cathey.
