Gregory Keith "Greg" McLaughlin, 60, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at his home in McAlester.
Born on January 22, 1959, in Gainesville, Texas, he was the son of Willis Leroy "Bear" McLaughlin and Mable Marie Buchanan McLaughlin. Greg was a graduate of Thackerville High School, Class of 1977.
He was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved riding his Harley bike.
He had worked in the oil field and did construction work for various companies.
Greg married Dawn James on March 15, 2001, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They lived all of their married life in McAlester.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Willis Leroy "Bear" McLaughlin and Mable Marie Buchanan McLaughlin.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn McLaughlin, of the home; daughter, Emily "Breeze" McLaughlin; sons, Trent McLaughlin, Ryan Klement and Casey Klement; stepdaughter, Alexa Welch and her husband, Curtis Welch; stepson, Derrick James; three granddaughters; brother, Leroy McLaughlin and wife, Walsie, of Wynnewood; sister, Brenda Dean and husband, Bobby, of Marietta; brother, Dwight McLaughlin and wife, Marsha, of Sherman, Texas; sister, Cyndy Green, of Burneyville; sister, Debra Dedek and husband, Steve, of Marietta; brother, Gary McLaughlin and wife, Sherry, of Valley View, Texas; cousin, Junior McLaughlin and wife, Debbie, of Thackerville; many nieces and nephews; a special niece, Stacie Llano, of Gainesville, Texas, whom she often referred to Greg as her big brother, and many great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
No service will be planned, which was Greg's request. His family will have a private memorial for him at a later date.
