Cynthia Lynn Peterson, 65, of McAlester, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, February 16, at Bishop Chapel of Memories.
Cindy was born on September 26, 1952, in Harvey, Illinois, to Robert James and Anita May (Musgrave) Peterson.
She played softball in high school and graduated in Illinois before moving to McAlester.
She enjoyed bowling on a league with friends, watching birds and squirrels and enjoyed gardening. She was also an avid Oklahoma University football fan.
She is survived by a sister, Bonita Stone, of McAlester; brother, Robert Peterson and wife, Marilyn, of Springfield, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Christine Melissa (Peterson) Claybaker and husband, Curtis, of Springfield, Missouri, Nicholas Ryan Peterson and Blaire Andrew Peterson, both of McAlester, and Angela Dawn (Peterson) Ward and husband, Gaylon, of Joplin, Missouri.
She was a survived by an aunt, Pat McCarty, of McAlester, and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends, Dee Snider, Michael Martin and Pat McNutt.
Cyndi was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Tammy Peterson, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Stone.
