Cherish Ann Gomez, 24, of McAlester, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018, at Oklahoma University Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Cherish was born on November 8, 1993, to Dwight Wilkerson and Christy Cantrell. She graduated from Crowder High School with the Class of 2012 and then attended Eastern Oklahoma State College. She was currently working at Carter Health Care as an administrative assistant since February 2017.
She married Jose Gomez on April 14, 2018. Cherish was also a member of Ash Creek Union Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Gomez; one-month old daughter, Gabriyella Frances Wade Gomez; mother, Christy Cantrell, of McLoud; father, Dwight Wilkerson, of Pittsburg; grandmother, Dena Cantrell, of Ash Creek; grandmother, Etta Wilkerson, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; sisters, Danetta Wilkerson, Anna Rolland and Olivia Tate and husband, Jacob, all of McAlester; brother, Juan Rolland, of Tulsa; niece, Rosie Rolland; nephew, Brendon Rolland; uncle, Wade Cantrell; sister-in-law, Rachael Wilson, of McAlester, and brothers-in-law, Joshua Wilson and Michael Wilson, both of Ada.
Cherish was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dennis Cantrell, and great-grandmother, Laura Lucille (Hancock) Jameson.
The family will greet friends today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chaney's Memorial Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 5, at Chaney's Memorial Chapel. The burial will follow at Ash Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jose Gomez, Wade Cantrell, Damien Miller, Austin Kenieutubbe, Joshua Harrington and Ronald Stout.

I worked with Cherish and she was a very sweet person. I want to give her family my condolences. May God wrap his arms around you all and give you comfort in this time of pain.
