Charles Calvin Roberts, 89, of McAlester, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at his residence.
The family will greet friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today, Sept. 10, at Bishop Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at Victory Park Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Jody Dominque. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Bruce Blackwell, Bryan Blackwell, Cory Edwards, Steven Amos, Clark Grilliot, Cameron Hutson and Austin Dobbs.
Honorary pallbearers will be his sons-in-laws, Don Blackwell, Bret Rivas and Jeff Ketchum.
Charles was born to Charlie Calvin and Beatrice Gladys (Moran) Roberts on Aug. 3, 1928, in Tripp, Texas.
He married Ina Bell 'Tiny" Hale on Dec. 24, 1944.
Charles was a longtime member of Victory Park Baptist Church.
He worked for 58 years as an insurance adjuster and owned Roberts Claim Service until his retirement.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Blackwell and husband, Don, Pattye Rivas and husband, Bret, and Charla Ketchum and husband, Jeff, all of McAlester; grandchildren, David and Paulyn Davis, of the Philippines, Christie and Tom Gera, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, Bruce Blackwell, of McAlester, Bryan and Kasey Blackwell, of Blanchard, Amber and Cory Edwards, of McAlester, Steven Amos and Kaitlin Hull, of McAlester, Cassie and Clark Grilliot, of McAlester, Cameron Hutson and Jolene Waldron, of McAlester, Bryce Ketchum, of Norman, and Cailey Hutson of Norman.
Great-grandchildren, Thea Angela, Tristan Angelo, Thea Angelee, Taylier, Chance, Kori, Ethan, Megan, Michael, Isabella, Kelsey, Holly and Joshua; brothers, Ronnie Roberts, W.A. "Dub" Roberts, and Jerry Roberts, all of Texas; sister, Peggy Bourland, of Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Beatrice Roberts; mother-in-law, Cora Hale; daughter, Glennda Gale Davis; son-in-law, David Davis; brothers, Lester Roberts and Tommy Roberts; sisters, Dorothy Gibbons and Lillie Jo "Jody" Hale; brothers-in-laws, Glynn Bourland, Douglas Hale, Ocy Hale and Staton Hale, and sisters-in-laws, Barbara Roberts, Brenda Roberts, Bettie Roberts and Elizabeth Roberts.
