Catherine's Story

Catherine Ann (Lowe) Thomason, 78, of Hartshorne, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne with the Rev. Kenny Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Bache-Red Oak Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.
Catherine was born on Sept. 18, 1939, in Hartshorne, to Leslie and Mary (Busetti) Lowe. She married George Thomason, of Hartshorne, on Nov. 10, 1960. Her purpose as a young mom was raising her three daughters.
She took a position as a cook at Hartshorne Public Schools in 1975. In her 27 years as a cafeteria worker and head cook she influenced and helped change many young lives. Hundreds of children and young adults still call her granny Cathy.
Catherine enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
She was a member of Gowen Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, George W. Thomason, of Hartshorne; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Ron Boprie, of Stigler, Tammy and Floyd Sarten, of Hartshorne, and Mellany and Jeffrey Painter, of Alderson; grandchildren, Kyle Johnson, of Broken Arrow, Courtney Bigelow, of Tulsa, William B. Morgan, of McAlester, Bridget Sudduth, of Hartshorne, and Shana Nowlin, of Alderson; great-grandchildren, Callie, Kirsten, Ella, Gage, Acetin, Michael Lee and Brock; one sister, Lynn Payne, brothers, Charles, Paul, Billy Ray and David Lowe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Mary Lowe; grandparents, Charles and Catherine Busetti; two brothers, Johnny and Leslie Lowe; one granddaughter, Marisa Brooke Johnson, and son-in-law, Douglas Johnson.
Active pallbearers will be Ron Boprie, Jeff Painter, David Ivy, Frankie Thomason, Tom Thomason and Calvin Thomason.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Brett Morgan, Kyle Johnson and Floyd Sarten.
