Carol Sue (Menasco) Gragg, of Allen, formerly of Haileyville, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, in her home.
Family will receive friends today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at Brumley-Mills Chapel in McAlester with burial following at Bache-Red Oak Cemetery.
Carol was born in San Jose, California, on July 6, 1943. At the age of four, her family moved to Dow. She attended Dow school through the eighth grade. She attended Haileyville High School and graduated with the Class of 1961.
She graduated from Eastern Oklahoma State College, with honors, at the age of 54.
She is survived by her son, Rodger Dean Gragg and Kay Sensibaugh, of Haileyville; daughters, Margie McElhany and husband, Jerry, of McAlester, and Brenda Johnson and husband, Monte, of Allen; two sisters, Ruth Ann and JT Dickerson, of Sallisaw, and Kathy "Boots" Menasco-Smith, of Burtonsville, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Samantha Gragg, of Haileyville, Joshua and Sarah McElhany, Jeremy and Brittany McElhany, and Jeffrey and Anna McElhany, all of McAlester, Cassie Johnson, Cory and Tina Johnson, and Conner and Jacklyn Johnson, all of Allen; also, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous others who chose to call her mom or Granny along with several nephews and nieces who were very special to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie R. Menasco and Maxine (Adams) Menasco, and one brother-in-law, James Smith.
