Carla Sue Sensibaugh


Carla Sue Sensibaugh, 66, of Haileyville, wife, mother, grandmother and sister, died on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.
The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Haileyville Christian Church with Pastor Richard Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Michael Wansick, Stan Stephens, Shawn Morris, Roy West, John West and Dennis James.
Honorary pallbearers are Phil Lay, Carl Price, Terry Rich, Chris Loman, Danny Dixon, Steve Clemente, Larry Hall and Kevin Brown.
Carla Sue was born on March 10, 1952, in McAlester, to Dom and Ethel Mae (Tomasi) Giacomo. She married Edmond Sensibaugh on June 19, 1970, in Haileyville, and had lived here most of her adult life. She had worked for brief times as a secretary in the insurance business, for the state of Oklahoma, the Baptist Book Store and H&R Block, but her main work was with the Federal Aviation Administration, where she worked for 20 years until retiring in 2010.
In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, working in her flower gardens and visiting with the granddaughters and watching Oklahoma University football games on TV. She also loved to play the piano at church, something she had done since her youth.
She was a member of Hartshorne Christian Church.
Carla is survived by her husband, Edmond Sensibaugh; a daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Dr. Justin Atherton; granddaughters, Lauren and Cara Atherton; a sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Billy Wansick; her mother-in-law, Wanda Sensibaugh; sisters-in-law, Louise West and Jo Elaine Nowlin; a brother-in-law, Buddy West, and numerous nieces and nephews.
