Carl T. Ketcherside, 75, of McAlester, died Monday, April 10, 2017, at his home on Peaceable Road.
The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 13, at Brumley-Mills Chapel with the Rev. James Harris, of Pathway to Truth Church, and Jimmy Williams officiating. Burial will be at Bache-Red Oak Cemetery.
Carl T. Ketcherside was born on Feb. 19, 1942, in the Peaceable area, to Thomas Garfield and Eula (O'Daniel) Ketcherside. Carl grew up in the Peaceable area, where he had lived all his life, and graduated from Savanna High School.
He was married to Reba Jean Williams Ketcherside and she preceded him in death. He later married Florence Smart on Jan. 9, 1965, in Haywood.
Carl worked at Komar Manufacturing for a number of years as a sewing machine mechanic supervisor until his retirement.
Carl was also a rancher virtually all his life and always enjoyed working with his cattle. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and teaching his grandchildren about life.
He belonged to the Savanna Senior Citizens and was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Ketcherside, of the home; children, Reba Holloway and husband, Ron, of Haileyville, and their children, Mariah and Bryce, Rena Bender and husband, Allen, of McAlester, and their children, Paul and Rachel, Carl Wayne Ketcherside, of Aberdeen, Maryland, and his son, Thomas, and Jennifer Harmon and husband, Randy, of McAlester, and their children, Dakota and Hunter; 10 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Flora Smart, of McAlester, and Audrey Mouer, of Modesto, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Reba Jean Williams Ketcherside; four sisters, and one brother.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Williams, Jimmy Williams, Rowdy Griffin, Kevin Smart, Farrell Smart and Keith Smart.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dee Smart, Harvey Smart, Larry Capehart, Jim Cozad, Earl Henry, Billy Ray Henry, Jim Henry and Brian Hilario.
