CJ Adcock, 85, of Russellville, was born on Sept. 14, 1931, in Russellville, to Ira Nolan and Edna (Ginn) Adcock. He passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, in Quinton.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Adcock, of the home; children, Ira Adcock and wife, Tania, of Quinton, Julie Roberts and husband, Doug, of Quinton, and Johnny Adcock and wife, Kim, of McAlester; two sisters, Claudine King and husband, Kenneth , of Quinton, and Alice Ann Pryor and husband, Ed, of Quinton; three brothers, Ralph and wife, Mary, of Beaver Mountain, Billy and wife, Jean, of Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Darrell and wife, Dorothy, of Russellville; grandchildren, Gloria and Rainey Arrowsmith, Leah and David Campbell, Matthew and Tiffany Roberts, Trey Roberts, Rebecca Adcock, and Christipher Adcock, and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War for two years. He then served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 16 years.
He later worked and retired as an Instructor of heating and air at Kiamichi Area VoTech of McAlester.
He loved Palestine Community Church, his family and his friends. He enjoyed living life. He never met a stranger
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Kathrine Stevens, and one brother, OC Adcock.
"You are my courage. You are my strength. You are my motivation, you are my inspiration. You are all the goodness that I have within me. I will NEVER forget you. I love you!"
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24, at Palestine Church with the Rev. Cardell Johnson and Darrell Adcock officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Stigler.
Viewing will be at Quinton Chapel today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday 10 a.m. to 8p.m.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Russell, Bob Callaway, JA Bryant, Randy Birckel, Kenneth King, Ed Pryor, Mike Bray, Jim Eakle, Mike Bailes, James Pryor and Tommy Cloud.
