Bonnie B. Larison, 94, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at her home in McAlester.
Funeral services will be on Monday at 10 a.m. at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Pastor J.P. Hackler officiating.
Bonnie was born on October 9, 1923, in Savanna, to J.D. and Mable Fisk Farris. She attended schools in Savanna and graduated from Savanna High School in 1942 as a Salutatorian.
Bonnie married William C. "Buddy" Larison at the First Christian Church of McAlester. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and later at the United States Naval Ammunition Depot in the accounting department. She also worked at the Union Stockyards.
Bonnie was a member of the First Christian Church of McAlester. She was very proud of the soup kitchen she started at the First Christian Church with her very dear friend, Pat Rounsaville.
Bonnie loved to talk about politics and religion.
She is survived by her daughter, Coeta J. Sellars, of McAlester; one sister, Betty J. Martin, of Amarillo, Texas; a nephew, Dr. Jimmy A. Martin Jr., of Amarillo, Texas, and a niece, Andrea Martin, of Bemidji, Minnesota.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Mable Farris; her husband, William C. "Buddy" Larison; a son, John Edward Larison; a brother, J.D. Farris Jr., and a brother-in-law, Dr. Jimmy A. Martin Sr.
