Billy Gene Quick, of Pittsburg, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018, surrounded by his family, at the age of 72.
Bill was born on January 24, 1945, in Pittsburg, to Otis and Dovie (Byrd) Quick. He joined the United States Army in 1965 and received an honorable discharge in 1967.
In 1981, Bill began working for the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in the supply operations department until his retirement in 1999.
Bill was a cowboy, riding horses and being an outdoorsmen.
Bill will be missed by his sisters, Linda Nelson, of Tishomingo, Sally Cason, of Pittsburg, and Rita Nelson, of Mira Loma, California; niece, Carol DePue, of Pittsburg, and many other nieces, nephews and other family and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Dovie Quick; sister, Margie Oneth; brother, Royce Quick; nieces, Lisa Cason and Vickie Oneth, and, nephew, Jason Oneth.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, January 18, at Pittsburg Baptist Church with the Rev. James Crowson officiating. Interment will follow at Pittsburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wesley DePue, Aaron DePue, Kevin Nelson, George Cowboy Rice, Clayton Rice, Rodney Rice and Johnathan Wynn.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Rice, Ronnie Rice, David Maxwell, Jeff Cason, Kenny Nalley and Alfred Nalley.
