Beverly June Morris, 85, of McAlester, died Friday, May 5, 2017, at her home in McAlester.
The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home today from 4 to 6 p.m.
Graveside funeral services will be Monday, May 8, at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with her son, Kevin Morris, officiating.
Beverly June Morris was born on Jan. 24, 1932, in El Reno, to James and June (Kehrer) Henderson. She came to McAlester with her family as a child and graduated from McAlester High School.
She married Dan Morris on Oct. 22, 1953. They lived in Shreveport, Louisiana, and then Durant for a number of years before returning to McAlester.
Beverly worked at McAlester Regional Health Center as a medical transcriptionist for many years until she retired.
Beverly was a very active lady. She loved to paint, sew and cook. She was also a devoted, active member of McAlester's First Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dana and Keith Lewis, of McAlester, Kim and Drew Lusk, of Moore, and Kelly Tryon, of McAlester; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Cindy Morris, of Yukon; grandchildren, Jonathan and Devon Lewis, Jeremy and LeAnn Lewis, Jennifer and Justin Hipp, Marvin Tryon Jr., Corey Morris and Alysa Morris, and great-grandchildren, Laney Lewis, Mattie Lewis, Brandon Hipp and Elijah Hipp. Also, step-grandchildren, Laura Lusk and Skyler Lusk, and step-great-grandchildren, Aidan Brooks, Layla Lusk, Nevaeh Sadler, McKayla Moore and Kynley Woods; a sister-in-law, Wanda Henderson, and special friends, Wy Miller and Teresa Lawson and family, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Morris; parents, J. B. and June Henderson; a brother, Don Henderson, and grandparents, James and Dora Henderson and Charles and Hazel Kehrer.
