Betty Lou Keith, affectionately known as Nawna, 57, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017, at her home in McAlester, after a battle with cancer.
Betty was born on June 29, 1959, in Fresno California, the daughter of Joseph and Lorene Peters. She was a longtime resident of Colbert. Betty graduated from Colbert High School in 1978 and worked for Colbert schools from 1999 to 2011.
Betty loved spending time with her husband, David, and thrift shopping and going to garage sales with her daughter and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, David Keith, of McAlester; her daughter, Stormy Abbott and husband, Jeff, of Colbert; son, Jeremy Keith and Sandy, of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Skylar Phillips, Chloe Dotson, Kailey Keith, and Blaine Keith, and several brothers and sister and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service celebrating Betty's life will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 1 p.m. at Brown's Chapel in Durant with Pastor Joe Beshirs officiating.
