Arnold Charles Lee Taylor "A.T.", 73, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019, in Denison, Texas.
Arnold was born in McAlester, to Johnson Taylor and Ethel (Perry) Taylor on March 27, 1946.
He moved to Dallas, met and married Joann (Jessie). They raised four children together.
Arnold loved to play and coach youth, men's and women's basketball and softball teams. When he wasn't coaching or playing, Arnold enjoyed grilling outdoors and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Being a full blood American Indian, Mississippi Band of Choctaw and citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, he played in many Indian fast-pitch softball tournaments.
Arnold worked at First Transit in Dallas, Texas, as a bus operator for many years and worked part-time as a master plumber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnson and Ethel Perry Taylor, and a brother, Jessie Taylor.
Arnold is survived by his children, Charlie Taylor, of Durant, Donya Battiest and husband, Randy, of Wylie, Texas, Brandon Taylor, of Durant, and Starla Austin and husband, Ed, of Seagoville, Texas; special niece and nephew, Kami Taylor, of Durant, and Chase McKinney, of Durant; a sister, Peggy Larney, of Dallas, Texas, and a nephew, Brian Larney, of Dallas, Texas.
Arnold also will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A wake service was held on Tuesday, June 25, at White Family Funeral Home.
Funeral services was held on Wednesday, June 26, at White Family Chapel presided by the Rev. Luther Battiest. Interment followed at Slater Memorial Cemetery in Wright City.
