Anita Nadine Walker, 84, of Red Oak, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Mitchell Manor Convalescent Home in McAlester.
Nadine was born in Throckmorton, Texas, on Sept. 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Ethel Faye (Messenger) and Troy J. Lohden.
She was a homemaker, historian, crafter, cook and gardener.
Nadine was a member of Wilburton Church of Christ/
She married J.D. Walker on Jan. 5, 1948, in Lane. They were married for 62 years.
Anita is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Lorene Walker, of Red Oak, and Leland and Sally Walker, of Red Oak; daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita and George Sherrell, of McAlester, and LaDonna and James Barber, of Haworth; sisters, Cleta Pierce and Linda Howell, both of Graham, Texas, and a sister-in-law, Betty Donaldson, of Springfield, Illinois. Nadine is also survived by grandchildren, Pamela and Neal Johnston, Jimmy Don Walker II, James Trenton and Gretchen Sherrell, Julia and Bryan Woods, Justin Wilcox, Troy and Jennifer Walker, Becky and Brandon Chandler, Jake and Sarah Walker, Danel Walker, and Ronnie and Lisa Wilcox; 19 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Jim Bob Lohden, and her parents.
Services will be held at the Wilburton Church of Christ at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3, with Mr. James Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Wilburton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Don Walker II, Neal Johnston, James Trenton Sherrell, Bryan Woods, Justin Wilcox, Ronnie Wilcox, Troy Walker II, Jake Walker, Brandon Chandler, Danel Walker, Lucas Johnston, and Levi Johnston.
Honorary pallbearers are the Wilburton Church of Christ family.
Services are under the direction of Waldrop Funeral Home of Wilburton.
