Alma's Story

Alma Pauline "Polly" Schofield, 99, passed away in Vinita, on Tuesday, Oct, 31, 2017.
Pauline was born on May 28, 1918, in Elmore City, to James Blakey "Blake" Moss and Vesta Nevada Baker. She married Pete Arthur Schofield in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Over the years, besides being a homemaker, Pauline worked at Blankes-Lackey Furniture and Appliance Store, Hale-Halsell Wholesale Grocers, managed the Tot to Teen Children's Clothing store and worked at the McAlester Clinic in bookkeeping.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in McAlester.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her parents; three step-sisters, Lorene Dorsey, Virginia Brown and Dorothy Spears, and one step-brother, Henry Patterson.
She is survived by two sons, Arthur L. Schofield and wife, Betty, of Edmond and Pete L. Schofield and wife, Connie, of Bluejacket; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Florence Schofield, of McAlester, and Jean Schofield, of Columbia, Missouri, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 6, at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery.
