Alfred "Gene" Wilson of Krebs, died Saturday, February 17, 2018, at his home at the age of 65.
Gene was born in Garden City, Kansas, to Alfred Wilson and Merle (Thompson) Wilson. He married Phyllis Gray on March 4, 1972, at Richville Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and father and at one time had three jobs to support his family.
Gene was honorably discharged from the United States Army, and the Oklahoma National Guard after 20 years of service.
He worked 19 years at Meeco, was a truck driver and worked 20 years at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. He retired in 2014, following the death of his wife.
Gene is survived by his two sons, Jerry Wilson and wife, Jessica, of Krebs, and Mark Wilson, of the home; one granddaughter, Audrey; brothers, Eddie Parker and wife, Trisha, of McAlester, Larry Parker, of Kiowa, and David Parker and wife, Jessie, of Texas; sister, Patsy McCormick, of Texas; brother-in-law, Billy Gray and wife, Robin, of Owasso, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Wilson, and parents, Alfred and Merle Wilson.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bishop Chapel of Memories.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 22, at Bishop Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Clint Gray officiating. The burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery in McAlester.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Gray, Tim Fox, Jackie Parker, Jack Sikick, Jim Zirbel and Aaron Kilburn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Parker, Kent Vicars, Billy Vicars and Harold Stewart.
