Alcarita I. Yoast, of McAlester, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at her home, at the age of 78.
She was born January 22, 1940, in Farley, New Mexico.
Alcarita was an active member of First Baptist Church of Kiowa, and she was dedicated to sending weekly cards to family, friends and her church family.
She married Charlie Yoast on May 14, 1955. She spent most of her life as a homemaker for her husband and children and also spent many years traveling while Charlie served in the United States Army.
Alcarita is survived by her four sons, Charlie Yoast Jr. and wife, Terri, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Rodney Yoast, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Michael Yoast, of McAlester, and Thomas Yoast and wife, Melody, of Lawton; one daughter, Shirley (Yoast) Harris and husband, Brett, of Belgrade, Montana, and her much beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughter.
Alcarita was the fourth daughter of six children born to Joe and Maria Trujillo, and she is also survived by her sisters, Mary Tschappatt, Esther Miller, Nora Yoast and Margaret Lupevcio, along with many other family and friends.
Alcarita was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charlie Yoast, and her first grandson, Casey Yoast.
The family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 26, at First Baptist Church of Kiowa. Interment will follow at Wardville Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bubba Dodge, Joey Dodge, Jacob Yoast, Jon Harris, Bobby Casteel and Brett Harris.
